Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Kids for Kids Festival UK

The United Kingdom (UK) Kids for Kids Film Festival is seeking submissions of short films of up to 10 minutes made by children and young people, 6-16 years old, in any of the following 3 categories:

  • Live Action
  • Animation
  • One Minute Films

Selected films will be screened at the festival at the Gala Cinema in Durham, UK, during the weekend of November 6-7 2010. The festival team will appoint a professional jury and a children’s jury. The jury will award the following prizes: "Best Film" in each age group and in each category, and one "Grand Prize for Outstanding Achievement" for a film made by children and young people in each age group. Awards and prizes will be announced at the conclusion of the festival.


Kids for Kids (KFK) UK is part of the bigger international KFK network organised by CIFEJ (International Centre of Film for Children and Young People).
