Survey: Information Needs and Practices of International Development Professionals

Survey: Information Needs and Practices of International Development Professionals
Vital to the work of any development agency is the capacity both to share its knowledge, ideas and information and to engage the capacities and knowledge of other development agencies.
Strategically this is increasingly difficult given the rapid pace of change in the communication environment. What communication processes should you prioritise? On what basis? What new processes are emerging? What are the information needs and practices of people and agencies working on development issues?
In March 2011 UNICEF and The Communication Initiative conducted a survey on these themes. 3,000 plus people involved in development action completed this survey. The results were made available to those interested to inform their strategies.
Even in 15 months much can change and has changed. So we are repeating the survey in 2012. Can we please encourage you to complete this 2012 survey
If you completed the survey in 2011 (thanks!) please do complete the 2012 survey. And if you did not complete the 2011 survey, then please do complete the 2012 survey (thanks!).
The results will again be made available to you should you wish so that you can use them to review and refine your strategies as UNICEF. Please indicate at the end of the survey if you wish to receive the results.
This 2012 survey will both provide contemporary knowledge and will allow us to see trends since 2011 when the results of both surveys are linked.
Please note that all personal and identifying information will be kept strictly confidential.
This survey should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. To access it simply follow this link
Please do share this note and the link to the survey with your networks. The more people who complete the better understanding we will all develop of the information trends, patterns, needs and practices of people and organizations involved in development action.
We know how busy you are and we very much value the very valuable insights you are sharing and the time that you are putting aside to complete the survey.
Best wishes and thanks from UNICEF's Division of Communication and The Communication Initiative
