Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

SummaryText
Published in September 2003, "A Rapid Assessment of Youth Friendly Reproductive Health Services," is the fourth issue in Pathfinder International's Technical Guidance Series. This paper discusses the "importance of reaching young people with reproductive health services" and explores methods for developing youth-friendly services within clinical programmes.

The paper includes detailed findings and shares lessons learned from assessments conducted in conjunction with the African Youth Alliance (AYA) projects in Botswana, Tanzania, Ghana and Uganda. It also offers guidance on how to perform assessments using Pathfinder's recently published "Clinic Assessment of Youth Friendly Services: A Tool for Rapid Assessment and Improving Reproductive Health for Youth." The Tool was designed to help programme managers and clinicians determine the extent to which current reproductive health services are youth-friendly. It can be used in conjunction with Pathfinder's newly revised and updated Adolescent Cue Cards, consisting of eight colorful job aids that offer providers helpful information and tips specific to the reproductive health needs of youth.

A iniciativa de comunicação??? Too bad it isn't also translated in Portuguese... As a Canadian working on-field in Mozambique, this could have been shared with fellow managers... but I understand the limits and have used the information on your page abundantly...
