Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

SummaryText

This is the website for the Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF), established to address the needs of men who have sex with men (MSM), especially with respect to HIV strategies and responses.  The focus of the organisation is to "ensure an effective response to rapidly escalating HIV epidemics among MSM, including the consequent support, treatment and care needs of HIV positive MSM, through advocacy, information exchange, knowledge production, networking, and capacity building activities, sustained over time at the global level."

The website format provides multilingual access to tools and information supporting the organisation's goals.  In addition to linking to advocacy reports, news feeds, and various global events, users are able to join the online community to: connect; share articles, events, and imagery; and post to online forums.

Headline tabs provide users with links other pages of interest, including funding and job opportunities, library resources, and event calendars.  Regional webpages provide geographically-specific information such as news, events, and links to regional member groups.  Further links to national-level news and organisations are included in these pages.
